Status and performance of the CMS Electromagnetic Calorimeter in Run 3 of LHC / Tornago, Marta (IRFU, Saclay) /CMS Collaboration
The Electromagnetic Calorimeter (ECAL) of the CMS experiment at the LHC plays a vital role in various physics analyses, including Higgs boson studies and searches for new phenomena. Achieving accurate calibration of the detector and its individual channels is critical for optimizing the energy resolution of electrons and photons, as well as for measuring the electromagnetic components of jets and contributing to energy sums used to detect particles that do not generate a signal in the detector. Refining Tau Identification with Domain Adaptation Techniques at CMS / Zakharov, Stepan (DESY) /CMS Collaboration
Hadronically decaying tau leptons are a challenging signature to study given it can be mimicked by quark and gluon jets, electrons, or muons. The identification of this signature via a convolutional neural network performed by CMS during the LHC Run 2 brought a massive improvement with respect to previous strategies. [...]

Search for Physics beyond the Standard Model in four- and three-top quark production / Shooshtari, Maryam (OAW, Vienna) /CMS Collaboration
A reinterpretation of four-top quark ($t\bar{t}t\bar{t}$) production is presented using the full Run~2 dataset recorded by the CMS experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138\,fb$^{-1}$. The analysis targets BSM scenarios using the existing \tttt production measurement, including constraints on effective field theory (EFT) operators, top-philic heavy resonances, and the top-Yukawa coupling. Review of the performance of the CMS hadron calorimeter / Wei, Yide (Nanjing Normal U.) ; Wang, Hui (Nanjing Normal U.) /CMS Collaboration
The hadron calorimeter is a central component of the CMS detector, vital for measuring hadron energies and reconstructing missing transverse momentum. This paper reviews its performance before and after the Phase~1 upgrade (completed in 2019), which upgraded both back-end and front-end electronics, including photodetectors and charge-integrating ADC with precise-timing TDC, as well as its depth segmentation in the barrel and endcaps. The CMS ME0 Upgrade Enhancing Forward Muon Reconstruction at the HL-LHC / Kaur, Anureet (Panjab U.) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS muon system is undergoing substantial upgrades to meet the challenges of the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), including the installation of the new Muon Endcap 0 (ME0) detector. Large-scale production started in 2024. [...]

Searches in CMS for new physics in final states with leptons / Kaur, Anureet (Panjab U.) /CMS Collaboration
Many new physics models, such as the Sequential Standard Model, Grand Unified Theories, models of extra dimensions, or models like leptoquarks or vector-like leptons, predict heavy mediators at the TeV energy scale. We present recent results of such searches in leptonic final states obtained using data recorded by the CMS experiment during Run-II of the LHC..

Probing new physics with dedicated data streams at CMS / Simsek, Ali Eren (Catholic U. America) /CMS Collaboration
Signatures of new physics at the LHC are varied and, by nature, often very different from those of Standard Model processes. Novel experimental techniques, including dedicated data streams, are exploited to enhance the sensitivity of the CMS Experiment to search for such signatures. [...]

Probes of flavor symmetry and violation with top quarks in ATLAS and CMS / Strautnieks, Normunds Ralfs (LATVIA-UNIV) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
Measurements of lepton flavor universality (LFU) and searches for charged lepton flavor violation (cLFV) are one of the most straightforward ways of searching for Beyond Standard Model (BSM) physics. The numerous production of top quark pairs at the LHC allows for high precision measurements of LFU ratios and searches for cLFV signatures. [...]

In preparation for operations at the HL-LHC, the CMS Collaboration is upgrading its endcap calorimeters with a high granularity calorimeter (HGCAL). The HGCAL back-end electronics includes two Non-Zero Suppression (NZS) boards, which dynamically disable zero-suppression in designated regions of interest. [...]

Multi-Scale Transformer Encoder for Di-Tau Invariant Mass Reconstruction at CMS / Camagni, Valentina (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) /CMS Collaboration
A transformer-based encoder is proposed for the offline reconstruction of tau-lepton decays, with the goal of improving the estimation of the di-tau invariant mass. The model performs a regression of the transverse momentum of each tau candidate to recover the contribution carried away by neutrinos in the decay, while keeping $\eta$ and $\phi$ fixed in accordance with the collinear approximation valid in the targeted phase space.
