Electron cloud mitigation techniques for the FCC-ee
/ Sabato, Luca (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Iadarola, Giovanni (CERN) ; Mether, Lotta (CERN) ; Pieloni, Tatiana (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Zimmermann, Frank (CERN)
The Future Circular Collider (FCC)-ee is a planned electron-positron collider under development. The future collider would be built in an about 91 km ring-shaped underground tunnel located beneath the French departments of Haute-Savoie and Ain, and the Swiss canton of Geneva. [...]

Double pulse generator for AWAKE scalable discharge plasma source
/ Torrado, NE (IST, Lisbon (main) ; CERN) ; Amoedo, C (CERN) ; Sublet, A (CERN) ; Taborelli, M (CERN) ; Pinto, SF (Lisbon, INESC-ID) ; Silva, JF (Lisbon, INESC-ID) ; Lopes, NC (IST, Lisbon (main))
High-voltage pulsed discharges can produce suitable plasmas for wakefield acceleration experiments, such as the Advanced Wakefield Experiment (AWAKE) at CERN. Using two successive voltage pulses, the first for plasma ignition (~20 kV) followed by a second pulse (~500 A) for plasma heating, it is possible to effectively obtain a highly reproducible plasma lasting tens of microseconds, by taking advantage of the low impedance state created by the first pulse.A discharge plasma source (DPS), based on this principle was installed in the AWAKE experiment producing over 21 thousand plasma discharges and was tested with a double-plasma set-up (3.5 + 6.5 m plasma length) using two pulse generators and a shared cathode. Status of the CERN optics measurement and correction analysis tools
/ Dilly, Joschua (CERN) ; Wegscheider, Andreas (CERN) ; Maclean, Ewen (CERN) ; Carlier, Felix (CERN) ; Soubelet, Felix (CERN) ; Gray, Joshua (CERN) ; Le Garrec, Mael (CERN) ; Tomas, Rogelio (CERN) ; Horney, Sasha (CERN) ; Persson, Tobias (CERN)
With a change in the LHC machine optics foreseen for 2025 and the possible reduction of beta-star, optics commissioning will become even more of a challenge for the CERN Optics Measurement and Correction (OMC) team. In particular, the increased sensitivity of the optics to non-linear imperfections, requiring a plethora of accurate measurements, is expected to be a time consuming task. [...]

Application of distributed temperature sensor for fire and cryogenic leak detection in accelerator tunnels
/ Dole, Michael (CERN) ; Di Francesca, Diego (CERN) ; Nissen, Henrik (CERN) ; Blanc, Jeremy (CERN) ; Bremer, Johan (CERN) ; FERNANDEZ, Julien (CERN) ; Dufay-Chanat, Laetitia (CERN) ; Contini, Lorenzo (CERN) ; Van de veire, Matthias (CERN) ; Rios, Oriol (CERN) et al.
High-energy accelerators like CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) present hazards characterized by temperature variations such as cryogenic leak or fire. Considering that LHC tunnels are large, underground, and radioactive areas, alternatives to traditional systems are explored to improve hazard detection. [...]
